Perceptions and Impacts of the Venice Entry Fee
Project type
Research
Date
2024
Location
Venice, Italy
In April 2024, the City of Venice implemented an entry fee targeting excursionist tourism. The city aimed to offset tourists from weekends while raising funds for city maintenance.
I was part of a 4-member team that studied the implementation of an entry fee in the city during trial runs on selected weekends and holidays. Our approach included administering surveys at tourist hotspots to gauge tourist reception. I conducted surveys with numerous tourists, interviewed their reactions and opinions on camera, and produced the voice-over for our video. Additionally, I documented our findings in the project report and presented them at the Venice Project Center.
